Pizza la Gondola

Surely everyone loves Pizza? This version features a delicious beef and bernaise sauce for a steaky taste with a delicious topping, and the home made base with a twist gives a real upgrade to a boring cheese and tomato frozen pizza.

Ingredients:

  • 20g fresh yeast
  • 125ml water
  • 300g flour
  • 1tsp salt
  • 10ml oil
  • 1tsp sugar
  • 80g tomato sauce
  • 100g grated mozzarella
  • 80g beef strips
  • 30g sliced peppers
  • 20ml of Bearnaise sauce
  • 50g onion
  • Oregano leaf

Method:

Mix a little warm water, sugar and yeast in a jug.

In a mixing bowl, add the flour and salt, then stir it.

Add the remaining water and mixture from the jug and stir for a few minutes. Add oil and mix again for a few minutes. Roll the dough into a ball. Prove at room temperature for 30 minutes until the dough becomes twice the size.

Then roll the pizza dough on the table. Make it into an oval and pinch the two ends to create the gondola shape.

Spread on the tomato sauce and grated mozzarella.

Top with strips of beef (use a rump or sirloin steak), sliced onion, peppers and Bearnaise sauce.

Transfer the pizza to an oven pre-heated to 250C.

Bake for 10 minutes or until golden brown and crispy, then serve with freshly chopped oregano.
